The Write Words

A recently-released book highlights the financial costs to business and government organisations who over-complicate their written language.

Rewrite: How to overcome daily sabotage of your brand and profit is a practical handbook for improving bottom-line results by changing the way organisations think about how they write.

Author Lynda Harris, CEO of Wellington-based Write Limited, says she wanted to help leaders understand that it is possible to radically change writing style for the better.

“I wanted to show how to implement a proven model that has seen dramatic results – regardless of the size of the organisation or how technical or complex its writing.”

The book includes interviews with senior corporate, government and legal staff who have successfully pioneered the widespread use of plain language in their organisations.

The book is available through Unity Books in Wellington and will soon be available in other independent book stores for $54. It can also be ordered online from www.rewritebook.com/buy-in-nz.html or through the LexisNexis e-store.
