Entries are now open for Kiwi council teams to register for next year’s Australasian Management Challenge. Teams can sign up anytime between November 1, 2018, and February 28, 2019, to take part in the New Zealand leg of the challenge.
SOLGM strongly advises councils to get in early so they can get started on the initial pre-challenge task. Anecdotal evidence from previous years suggests an early start is likely to give teams a winning edge.
SOLGM works closely on the challenge with its sister organisation Local Government Professionals Australia which administers the registrations from councils on both sides of the Tasman.
The New Zealand leg of the challenge will take place at Silverstream Retreat in Upper Hutt on May 21 and May 22, 2019. Teams will be advised of which challenge day to attend once SOLGM knows how many teams have registered. Teams will need to arrive the evening prior for the pre-challenge dinner and activities.
The winner of the New Zealand part of the challenge will be announced in June 2019 and go on to the play-off against Australian councils later in the year.
